The children's book series and the film series based on it revolve around a group of friends who compete against other teams in soccer tournaments and competitions. The book series was written by Frauke Nahrgang and the film series was directed by Grenz Henman.

Moritz, Niko, Mehmet, Catrina and Julian are members of the soccer team "Die Teufelskicker. In each book or film, they compete in a particular tournament or competition. In the process, the Teufelskicker have to improve their skills and teamwork.

The series was very successful both as a film and as a book and had a large fan base of young audiences in Germany and other countries. The individual parts convey important values such as friendship, teamwork and fair play, while at the same time encouraging children's interest in soccer.
