Checker Tobi is a German educational television program for children that has been broadcast weekly on KiKA and ARD since September 2013. As of June 2024, 316 regular episodes have aired. In this TV format, the "Checkers" embark on adventures, pepper experts with questions, and try out as much as possible. The episodes are informative, entertaining, and above all, funny. Tobias Krell says: "We learn best when we laugh." "The Checker format" is one of the most well-known and popular educational shows for children on German television, with an average market share of 22% among the target group of 3- to 13-year-olds. The YouTube channel "Checkerwelt" has over 638,000 subscribers, with the most popular episodes garnering more than 16 million views. The series has received numerous awards, including the Bavarian TV Award, EMIL, White Elephant, Robert Geisendörfer Award, a nomination for the Grimme Award, and was a finalist at Prix Jeunesse, among others.

In a similar style and with consistent elements, each episode is dedicated to a single topic, preparing it in a child-friendly manner for the core target audience of six- to twelve-year-olds. Each episode alternates between moderated studio segments, reports, and explanatory graphics. The show's topics align with the interests of elementary school children, covering a broad spectrum of subjects. The first episode of Checker Tobi aired on September 21, 2013.

Since October 2023, Marina Blanke has joined the "Checker" group as Checkerin Marina.

On January 31, 2019, the first documentary film, Checker Tobi und das Geheimnis unseres Planeten (Checker Tobi and the Secret of Our Planet), was released in German cinemas. On October 5, 2023, the second film, Checker Tobi und die Reise zu den fliegenden Flüssen (Checker Tobi and the Journey to the Flying Rivers), was released, attracting 1.5 million viewers.
