All the stories about the little vampire Rüdiger are based on the novels by German author Angela Sommer-Bodenburg. The screenplay for the TV series was revised by Richard Nielsen. The 2000 film was directed by Uli Edel. Nine-year-old Tony (Anton) moves from California to a small village in Scotland. Tony finds it difficult to adjust to his new surroundings, especially since he is haunted by nightmares about vampires. One night, the nine-year-old vampire Rudolph even pays Tony a visit in his bedroom and tells him that his family has lived in the area for centuries. Nowadays, he and his family feed exclusively on the blood of cattle. An ancient curse weighs on the vampires - to lift it, they need a mysterious amulet that can only be found every 300 years, when the comet Attamon passes the moon. This event is imminent, and Tony recognizes the amulet from his nightmares.
